The ePharmacy
What is the ePharmacy?
The ePharmacy is a virtual telemedicine service offering convenient PrEP delivery and support to diverse populations. It’s designed for those seeking an easier alternative to in-facility PrEP services. The ePharmacy is ideal for working individuals who can’t visit clinics during regular hours, people in remote areas, key populations fearing stigma, stable PrEP users, and those using event-driven (ED) PrEP. Clients can access HIV testing at facilities and receive PrEP delivered directly to their door, making it both convenient and cost-effective.
How does the ePharmacy work?
- You'll receive a 3-month supply of PrEP medication in each parcel. If a smaller supply is needed, the nurse will inform you before dispatch.
- 20 days before finishing your medication, we'll contact you to arrange an in-clinic HIV test. You can visit a partner clinic, Department of Health (DoH) facility, or a private provider (at your own expense).
- After the test, submit your results via WhatsApp to 077 402 2456 to receive your next 3-month supply.
- A copy of the test result request form will be included in your parcel.
Important Information:
- Do not share your medication with others. Store it safely out of reach.
- Lost your medication? Contact us immediately for assistance.
- Take 1 tablet daily, at the same time each day. If you're a first-time PrEP user, wait 7 days before engaging in sex.
- Missed a dose? Take it within 12 hours of your usual time. If it's been more than 12 hours, skip the dose and take the next one as scheduled.
- For full protection, you must have taken at least 6 doses in the past week.
- If you have concerns or need support while taking PrEP, contact us at 077 402 2456 via call or message.
- If you feel like stopping PrEP, reach out to us for the necessary guidance.
- Continue using condoms to reduce the risk of other STIs.
- This service is designed to make accessing PrEP easy, safe, and hassle-free.
